Květuše Plášilová (née Vojtěchová) was born in Jaroměř on 12 March 1945. Shortly after, the family moved to Kuks where her father worked as a train dispatcher and her mother worked first as a kindergarten cleaner and then in a factory producing Christmas decorations. She attended school right in the house where the family lived. As a child, she liked sports and played amateur theatre with the local troupe from age 16. She apprenticed for a salesperson in Hronov in 1959-1962. She then worked in small shops in the villages around and in Kuks and also in a Christmas decorations plant. Her father became an active member of the Civic Forum during the Velvet Revolution. At the time of filming (2025) she was still living in Kuks.
