“I was not allowed to study so I became an apprentice. I managed to get a place at the end of holidays or I would have to start mining. I wanted to study to become forester or to repair radios. But neither of it was possible.” narrates Josef Klíma (the shortest one in the middle in the photo).

“I liked dancing. So, for example they organized so called ‘teas‘ (dance parties) in Park kultury Julia Fučíka (Julius Fučík´s Culture park). We could not dance so called ‘Hollander dance‘ nor cancan. The organizer walked between the dancers and as soon as someone started to spin his dancer, they threw him away. They did not let me in after that, so I started to go to Radiopalac where it was not so strict,” recalls Josef Klíma (on the left).
