Jiřina Lovecká, née Mikšanová, was born on 31 July 1940 in Prague. She graduated from higher technical school of chemistry in Prague. After her studies, she joined the company Paints and Varnishes (Barvy a laky) in 1958, then worked as a laboratory technician at ČKD until 1969. Later she worked as a waitress at RaJ (Restaurants and Canteens). In 1970 she joined Armabeton. In 1961 she met Karel Boček. After he escaped from pre-trial detention in July 1971, she hid him in her house. Together with the Boček family, she organised his escape by truck to the Federal Republic of Germany. After the disclosure of the action, she was arrested in September 1971 and investigated for a quarter of a year. The following year she was sentenced to one year in prison, but thanks to the 1973 amnesty she did not have to serve her sentence. She did, however, have to leave her previous employment at Armabeton and lost her passport. She did not see Karel Boček again until after the revolution.
