The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Josef Ouroda (* 1955)

• narozen 7. ledna 1955 v Mostě

• od roku 1968 poslouchal zahraniční rozhlasové stanice a poslech těchto stanic také propagoval

• vyučen zámečníkem

• už během studia na učilišti byl v hledáčku StB

• po vyučení pracoval v Krušnohorských strojírnách Komořany

• upozorňoval na hospodářské nešvary

• v roce 1978 podepsal Chartu 77

• podílel se na rozmnožování informačních materiálů o Chartě 77

• v roce 1979 uvězněn a odsouzen na dva roky nepodmíněně za pobuřování

• vězněn v Plzni na Borech s Františkem Pitorem, Jiřím Gruntorádem či Jiřím Dienstbierem

• v 80. letech pod nátlakem StB, aby emigroval v rámci akce Asanace

• pravidelně zadržován policií ve dnech různých výročí

• dodnes je občansky aktivní
