The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Miroslav Froyda (* 1933  †︎ 2022)

• narozen 7. března 1933 v Plzni

• svědek i účastník událostí z druhé světové války v Plzni

• v roce 1953 se mu přes střežené hranice podařil útěk do Rakouska

• v Rakousku podepsal spolupráci s americkou výzvědnou službou MIS

• o rok později byl vyslán zpět do Československa s úkolem zorganizovat zpravodajskou skupinu

• na hranicích byl zadržen a následně odsouzen k 15 letům vězení

• ve vězení strávil jedenáct a půl roku

• v roce 2013 mu byl přiznán status účastníka odboje v odporu proti komunismu a také status válečného veterána

• zemřel 9. března 2022
