The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Magda Barnea roz. Kappová (* 1925)

• narozena v roce 1925 v Brně v židovské rodině

• sionistická rodina, otec zubní lékař

• v dubnu 1942 celá rodina transportována do Terezína

• v září 1944 převezena do Osvětimi

• z Osvětimi po několika týdnech do Bergen-Belsenu

• zhruba v listopadu 1944 převezena do továrny v Raguhnu

• jaro 1945 transportována zpět do Terezína

• po osvobození na léčení na Slovensku a ve Švýcarsku

• krátce po únoru 1948 přechod hranic do Rakouska na falešné dokumenty

• v létě 1949 imigrovala do Izraele

• svatba s Janem Bramerem (Dov Barnea)

• pracovala ve školství, v důchodu se věnuje muzejnictví a archeologii

• žije v Omeru u Beerševy
