Alfréd Wolf was born on December 27, 1946 in the Chebzí settlement in the Jeseníky region as the youngest of seven children to his parents Josef and Marta. Both parents were of German nationality. A few months before he was born, his native settlement became depopulated, because the local people had to start the expulsion of the Germans. The Wolfs could stay, but in 1948 they moved them to the village Mirošov in the Rokycany district, where they had to work at local farmers for five years. They returned to Chebzí in 1953, but first they had to repair their completely devastated house. At that time also his brothers Josef and Otto were called to basic military service and thanks to their nationality they got assigned to the auxiliary technical battalions (PTP). Alfred Wolf stayed in Chebzí and he is now the last native German living in this remote settlement. He experienced not only the depopulation of the village, but also the demolition of local houses in 1959 by soldiers of the Czechoslovak army.
