Markéta Suchá was born in Prague on November 28, 1953. She grew up with her mother and grandparents, who worked as janitors. She attended primary school in Kampa, after the invasion in August 1968, she tore up her ID card with her classmates. She apprenticed as a women’s tailor in Pragodev. She served as chairwoman of the Revolutionary Trade Union (ROH) committee. In 1975, she married Miloš Suchý. She retired in 2021, until then she worked in education.
