Viktor Spousta was born on the 4th February in 1944 into a family of a publisher of photography literature. He grew up in the Old Town of Prague in Kaprova Street along with his two siblings. In 1953, his father lost the publishing house due to the monetary reform. Viktor started school at Uhelný trh and at the age of fourteen, he enrolled a trade school in Ústí nad Labem which he finished in 1960, having apprenticed as a service technician for cooling systems. He worked, among others, at the poultry farm in Xaverov. He devoted his free time to theatre. This lead to him serving in the army in the Army Variety Ensemble. Later, he performed with the amateur theatre Na tahu, led by Andrej Krob. In 1975, he played the main part in Václav Havel’s adaptation of the Beggar’s Opera. The only performance took place on the 1st of November in 1975 in Horní Počernice but there were no further performances. Viktor Spousta was persecuted for taking part and he lost his job. He gained a foothold in the hospitality business and after some time, he became a restaurant manager. At the time being, he is retired. He was married twice, he has two sons, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His another passion is travelling – he spends every winter on an island in Thailand. In 2021, he lived in Bratroňov near Nasavrky.
