Alena Plichová, née Zerklerová, was born on December 11, 1931. Soon after her birth, her parents divorced and the witness was brought up by her grandmother. Later, her mother met a new partner and with the outbreak of World War II, she and her grandparents moved to Strakonice. Her grandfather worked in a local depot and was imprisoned and subsequently executed for his saboteur activities. Grandmother was allegedly transported to a concentration camp. She survived the death march and experienced liberation by the US military. After 1948, her mother tried to cross the state border on a motorcycle and leave Czechoslovakia illegally, but she did not succeed. The witness looked at her mother’s hobby and liked riding a motorcycle. She also added aviation, which she got to with the help of her father. Together with him, she was one of the founders of the Strakonice Aeroclub. At the time of filming, she lived in a home for the elderly in Ostrava (2014)
