David Ševčík gained experience making slumped and flat glass from Jaroslav Švácha, the owner of TGK in Skalice near Česká Lípa, who is pictured here.

The legendary glass designer Bořek Šípek was the artistic director of Ajeto, the glassworks where David Ševčík is now the director. Some of Šípek's designs are now in the Lasvit Ajeto gallery and admired by thousands of visitors a year.
