Jaroslav Mařan talked about events that were directly related to the place where he lived as a child that happened during the German occupation. He recalls the fate of Josef Kolda from Vyskeř who provided shelter for Assoc. Prof. Krajina and František Malý when they were hiding from the Gestapo. It was in the summer of 1942. The Gestapo arrested and tortured Josef Kolda but he did not speak. He was taken to Mauthausen and executed. Another family - the Lánskýs - hid paratroopers. In general, the arrests caused fear among the people.
