Petr Bubeník was born in Prague but he often went to visit his grandparents in Lipová. He does not recall there ever being a problem with intolerance based on nationality in Lipová. People respected each other and were friends - Czechs and Germans, regardless of nationality. He remembers life along the border and the destinies of the Germans who were not deported. He spent 1968 in Italy. He also remembers the changes in the border area after 1989. He has lived in Lipová near Šluknov since 2020.
