The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Pavel Zeman (* 1948)

• narodil se 16. července 1948

• s rodiči žil na pražském Břevnově

• vyučil se traktoristou

• během učňovských let začal hrát na bicí a poslouchat bigbít

• mezi lety 1969–1973 hrál na bicí s The Plastic People of the Universe (PPU)

• založil kapelu Bílé světlo

• v roce 1976 byl po svatbě Ivana Jirouse zatčen, 14 dnů strávil ve vazbě

• v lednu 1977 podepsal Chartu 77 a přestěhoval se do Brandýsa nad Orlicí

• zkoušeli s kapelou Bílé světlo a jezdili za nimi i PPU

• po sametové revoluci kandidoval na starostu a byl členem zastupitelstva obce Meziměstí

• v 90. letech založil sociální projekt, který pomáhal lidem se závislostmi

• v roce 2024 žil v Leštině u Vysokého Mýta
