The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Mgr. Marián Zajíček (* 1951)

• narozen 22. ledna 1951 v Dubové na Slovensku

• absolvoval teologickou fakultu v Bratislavě

• roku 1974 podstoupil kněžské svěcení a začal vykonávat práci faráře

• podepsal prohlášení Charty 77 a snažil se rozšiřovat ho na Slovensku

• v březnu 1978 obviněn z trestného činu podvracení republiky a krátce držen ve vazbě

• po stažení obvinění trvale sledován, vyslýchán a perzekvován Státní bezpečností

• úřady mu odebraly státní souhlas k výkonu duchovenské služby

• roku 1987 se přestěhoval do Prahy

• s manželkou Evou, rozenou Hradilkovou, přesídlili do Domašína u Jindřichova Hradce

• v 90. letech zaměstnán na Ministerstvu vnitra

• od roku 2006 přešel do Parlamentní knihovny

• v roce 2020 žil v Praze
