The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Gregory Tigrid (* 1958)

• narozen v roce 1958 v New Yorku

• otec pracoval jako číšník, matka v domácnosti nebo vykonávala příležitostné práce

• když mu byly dva roky, rodina se přestěhovala do Francie

• na severní pařížské předměstí vyrůstal ve zcela českém prostředí díky babičce z matčiny strany

• vystudoval jazykové gymnázium ve Fontainebleau

• na Sorbonně studoval angličtinu a němčinu, krátce navštěvoval školu v anglickém Brightonu

• po studiu pracoval v revue Svědectví jako grafik a administrativní pracovník

• později si otevřel tiskárnu, dnes vlastní malou grafickou firmu

• podílel se na výrobě revue Svědectví, zažil plynový útok na redakci iniciovaný StB

• Československo poprvé navštívil po roce 1989
