The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Vladimír Stehlík (* 1934)

• narodil se 23. března 1934 v Brně

• v roce 1953 byl vyloučen z Vysoké školy chemicko-technologické v Pardubicích

• důvodem bylo, že dával najevo nesouhlas s komunistickým režimem

• s kamarády založil protistátní skupinu s cílem bojovat proti komunismu

• snažili se sehnat zbraně, ukradli auto a motorku

• byl zatčen a odsouzen ke třem letům vězení za podvracení republiky

• v roce 1956 se s kamarády připravovali na zapálení brněnské rušičky vysílače Svobodná Evropa

• před akcí byl znovu zatčen a odsouzen k pěti letům práce v uranových dolech

• poté pracoval v podniku Brněnské papírny

• stal se členem Československé strany socialistické a po roce 1989 jedním ze zakladatelů Občanského fóra v Brně

• v 90. letech působil jako starosta městské části Brno 4
