The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Jana Soukupová (* 1958)

Kdyby mi sáhli na děti, tak všechno podepíšu

  • narozena 6. prosince 1958 v Brně

  • během roku 1968 s rodinou pobývala v Sýrii

  • v roce 1969 vstoupila do skautského, později pionýrského oddílu

  • vystudovala gymnázium a pedagogickou školu

  • učila v mateřské škole, později pracovala v dělnických profesích

  • od roku 1985 přispívala do samizdatové revue Host

  • absolvovala domovní prohlídku a výslechy na StB

  • po 17. listopadu 1989 aktivní představitelkou sametové revoluce v Brně v roce 1989

  • od 90. let dosud působila jako novinářka
