The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

František Kolečkář (* 1932  †︎ 2019)

Nedalo se utíkat jinak než tajně

  • narozen 6. listopadu 1932 v Kunovicích u Uherského Hradiště

  • vyrůstal v Kunovicích v katolické rodině

  • v 17 letech s kamarádem utekl do Rakouska

  • lstí československého špióna byl vrácen zpět do republiky

  • čtyři měsíce strávil ve vězení v Uherském Hradišti

  • po nesnázích v zaměstnání se uchytil v LETu Kunovice

  • základní vojenskou službu sloužil u PTP

  • roku 1969 emigroval přes Rakousko do USA

  • 30 let žil v Kalifornii

  • roku 1999 se trvale vrátil do ČR

  • zemřel 20. května 2019
