The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Bohumil Doležal (* 1940)

• narodil se 17. ledna 1940 v Praze

• vystudoval bohemistiku a germanistiku na FF UK

• v 60. letech byl redaktorem nakladatelství Československý spisovatel

• v letech 1964–65 a 1968–69 byl redaktorem časopisu Tvář

• po roce 1969 pracoval jako montér, technický pracovník a programátor

• v roce 1977 podepsal Chartu 77

• roku 1987 spoluzaložil Demokratickou iniciativu

• Státní bezpečností byl sledován a mnohokrát zatčen

• od ledna 1990 byl poslancem Federálního shromáždění

• ve volbách 1990 byl zvolen do Sněmovny národů FS

• v letech 1992–1993 byl šéfem poradců předsedy vlády Václava Klause

• 1993–2002 přednášel politické myšlení na FSV UK

• od roku 2000 vydával vlastní internetový zápisník Události

• etabloval se jako novinář, publicista, komentátor politického dění
